Our Approach
Jigsaw Consult believes that the global community has a shared responsibility to tackle poverty, inequality and injustice - issues we recognise are complex. Whenever a third party tries to intervene there is a risk that they will inadvertently make things worse. We appreciate that there is no silver bullet for solving the major problems the world faces, but believe that where outside engagement is thoughtful and creative it can make a positive, lasting and sustainable difference.
Jigsaw Consult views basic development as vital in order to equip people to live well in the world. This means we prioritise improved access to good quality education, reliable and affordable healthcare, effective and sustainable agricultural practice, food security, clean water and good sanitation. Effective sustainable development also requires engagement with the overarching issues that define our shared future. Trade reform, climate change, migration and access to information are each pivotal challenges facing ours and future generations. Crucially, effective development also requires peace, which in turn ultimately depends on good governance, strong justice systems and an empowered, active population.
We play our part in this as an interdisciplinary team of consultants bringing strategic input to the international development arena. We are passionate about innovation, participation and transparency, and work in partnership with our clients to provide effective programme guidance, monitoring and evaluation and policy research.
